Wow all this wait and I get great graphics with horrible storyline.

sorry you feel that way. I would refund your money if you'd paid me any :P

Don't take this the wrong way, but I've thought the same things about the Brackenwood stories for a while. That they weren't AS great as the could be. I was just really impressed you were able to come out and be that honest and truthful about yourself that way.

Waterlollies did turn out absolutely gorgeous though, and it probably had the most pleasent and engrossing of the Brackenwood stories so far. I'm really just giddy with anticipation for the potential Brackenwood feature. If I may, I would suggest, if it's all possible, that you try got rope Guillermo Del Toro in as a producer on it. He has the same sort of subtle and simple magical fancy you do, I find.

Anyway, this is really great, and you're improving en masse with regards to your story-telling abilities.

thanks for the comments.. Guillermo Del Toro would be awesome for Brackenwood I agree. Anyone got his email address? :P

Dear Adam Phillips!
ACTUALLY your latest movie is playable offline!
You just have to skip the frames forward, by pressing Ctrl+> few times.
Thank you for attention.

thanks for that! It's not my intention to make it bullet-proof but I'll look into it all the same.

That Was Sooooo Good I'm Speechless

omg 4.75 is the biggest score i have ever seen! i mean usually by this time theyve been voted down, but yours has been voted UP!!!!! well its the best thing ive ever seen on newgrounds, the plot isnt brilliant but its better than alot of stuff on ng, andit was beautifully animated. YOU ROXXORS MA BOXXORS! i hope we get 1 more toon before you make the movie, i dont think i can go that long O.O

Hey man, no need to tell you that you have amazing skills
I have great respect for such talent
now I'm not sure you even read these messages but I was just wondering if you ever thought about making a game in your fantastic universe?
I'm a professional game developer at ubisoft montreal (worked on rainbow six vegas and now farcry 2) and I'm currently working on a side-scroller engine in flash so when I see supreme artwork like yours, I drool and imagine what could be made with it game-wise :)
Let me know if you had any thought on the subject

Peace man and congratulations on your many success

Marco

yeah man, games are high on my agenda.. right up there with the short film and feature film. Drop me a line through my site if you wanna chat about your side-scrolling Flash engine.

Learn to animate, n00b.

ok will do. brb.

Yet another mind blowing addition of how we all need to take a page out of your work ethic guide and learn from the best. Visually stunning work that hands down trumps anything the likes of which has been seen on Newgrounds.

I applaud you sir, for you are our inspiration.

Finally, it looks like you'll get the #1 spot back again. good. :)

You'll only be in first by .32! *sarcasm* <.<

Waterlollies is amazing, as is all of your work.

so I just saw waterlollies
and it was perfect, it was well worth the wait
I never pressure flash artist on getting things done early, cause if I'm to watch a flash, I dont want it to be crappy, and me being a beginning noob flash animator, this work seems to have taken unimaginable work to complete

So, I'm not pressuring you or anything, but, ( i know its a stupid question), do you plan on making another Brackenwood story in the future?

Anyways, awesome flash.

I most definitely plan on expanding on the world of Brackenwood but this is the end of the "random day in the life" shorts, that were originally designed to get my name and story out there.

Future Brackenwood works will concentrate on the bigger picture of Brackenwood.. starting from the beginning.

adam, what on earth does your quote mean man?

"At the heart of a good story there's a good story."

it's an intentionally nonsensical phrase that simply means 'story is everything' :)

Wow. You have the highest score in the history of Newgrounds. As of right now you're clocking at flash score of 4.78 and a review score of 9.9. That has got to be some kind of record there! Thousands upon thousands of people look up to you everyday as a grand master of Flash; myself included. You deserve every bit of it.

How does that make you feel?

Cheers!

You already deserve all the features you will win.

"Waterlollies" was superb! GOD, I love your animation!
I have to ask, though... are the characters from folklore, or did you make them up? I know that Bitey is a version of Pan (half human, half goat) and of course, there's Big Foot... but what about the rest?
Also... and this might sound strange... i love your water. I've seen so many animations where the water is just blue shiny stuff. No real life to it, and it kinda disappoints me.
But you! Your water is so well-animated, I think I could drink it! You have a great artistic eye... putting that little bit extra into your animations. You add the little things that we take for granted, yet you know that someone on here will notice and have a bitch-fest over.
Well done!

pretty cool and considering how long your movie is. you can easily do a movie with a storyline and your awesome art work for the graphic whores all at the same time.

most movies that put the highest emphasis on storyline, plot and character development are series flash toons and treat there movies like soap operas since the movies themselves are split into parts.

your hitch hiker movies for an example of soap opera styled flash movies since sometimes it's unrealistic to cram storyline into smaller file sized movies.

I'm actually not one to go with the crowd or be amazed by a movie just because i liked the drawings.

peace out

-Mightydein

who else could have been able to achive such a score ? figure that one out, it had to be another masterpiece from adam phillips.
wow, that was a perfect movie. apart from the very good animation and storyboard you are very lucky with the musicians you're capable of convincing to help you. you have a fine taste, you could aswell release a soundtrack based on your flash work. perfectly atmospherical and appropriate. to be honest, i am now only listening to "waterlollies". and it's not because of any problems with the visuals, it's only because i'm writing right now.
i recently noticed that you have also blamed yourself for not having sufficient story skills. to hell with that. i mean, we'll certainly be all happier, if you leave more place for interpreting the storyline - but the most amazing thing about your movies is their "lighness". i for example can watch it just like doing nothing. but after watching it i kinda fell better. one is just drawn into the ambience of the natural and beautiful environment. it's undescribable. but of course i'am not limiting your ambitions. i just like your movies how they already are, and i'm looking forward to next ones.
regards
alex

SWEET JESUS! i was expecting to come home and it be on at most 4.6 by now, like every other animation thats been rated really high, but NO!!! its an even MORE impressive score! 2.79? OMFG! if i got a score of that i'd be so happy id die of happiness :D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you are one talented son of a bitch!

http://www.newgrounds.com/rankings/ar tists < - and also when that updates you'll be #1 again :D

More than any other Brackenwood movie, this one had the clearest and most developed story of all. Really enjoyed it.
